Setting up a password for database file

Porta+ Private Notes uses the very strong encryption algorithm (Rijndael) in order to keep your notes secure. The encryption key is based on your password. This means that nobody but you can view your notes.

In order to keep your information secure, you need to set up a password so that only you can access it once the information has been saved. We strongly recommend that you use a password at least 8 characters in length.

To set a password or to change an existing password; first create a new Private Notes database file, or open an existing database file, then click on the Tools menu, and then on Database Properties.

Input a title for your database and its description (optional). In the bottom of the window, input your password twice, and click on OK.

Your password can consist of any number of characters, and can include punctuation marks. The password is case sensitive.
